Hi, I'm Poke. And this is my guide to life. Not quite, but it is a little blog about the things that excite me.
It all started when I saw my friends having fun with their blogs. I thought to myself "Hey, I want to have that much fun!" But what to write about? I love my beauty products, but I'm certainly no enthusiast. I might have a bit of a nail polish obsession, but I'm not exactly on top of trends. Cooking? I love it, but I'm no Paula Deen. I love doing crafts and creating things, but I'm more of a dabbler - I do a little bit of everything and not a lot of anything. I can waffle on for days about the books I've read - but could I really keep up a blog on just book reviews? I think not.
Well, I have varied interests - so why tie myself down to just one subject? That's right - I'll cover them all! I'll review products that I try (or ones that I already love), opine on books, give how-to's, post recipes, and maybe even dole out a few tips and tricks to help you out.
My opinions on the hot topics du jour are generally my own, although occasionally I may feel impassioned enough to share them. If ever I do write about something controversial I'll be sure to warn you at the start.
Who is Poke?
My name is Amanda, and I'm a young immigrant living and working in the southern part of beautiful England. I was born and raised in the USA where I lived until I joined my husband here in the UK in March of 2013.
The name Poke comes from my participation in online communities. It's a shortened version of my screen name which is now what many of my close friends know me as. I love it. No, it has nothing to do with Gumby.
